  • Replaced and relocated the existing Center Plant 500 KVA with a new 1,650 KW, 277/480 volt Engineer Generator that is sized to handle the load of two existing chillers with the related chiller circulation pumps and new chilled water storage tank equipment. With the existing 30,000, 10,000 fuel tanks, and a 400-gallon day tank, at 94/gallon/hr., requirements are met to provide 96 hours of running time at an 80% load.

The Existing 500 KVA Engine Generator was relocated to a new screen block wall enclosure adjacent to existing trailer T-74. A new 3,000-gallon underground tank or above ground tank was provided for the 96-hour run time requirement. A new weatherproof enclosure was provided to cover the Engine Generator and houses the muffler. The new emergency panel was provided for the distribution of power to buildings 11, 13, 54 and 55.

Three Automatic Transfer Switches were provided at building 43. One 1,200 amp ATS for the new Motor Control Center, which will feed the chillers related circulating pumps. Separate ATS switches were provided for buildings 54 and 55 to feed a new dedicated emergency power panel in each building for egress lighting. An ATS switch was provided in building 13 that transfers the entire building to emergency power. Building 11 was provided with an emergency power distribution system that feeds the mechanical system, elevator and selected emergency receptacles via a new ATS switch and also feeds the existing ATS’ that already feed selected receptacles, alarm system and egress lighting.
